Health Resort and Heroes of Sokołowscy Bridge in Darków

In Karviná, Darków Spa includes two health resorts. The building located near the Olza River and the Darków bridge is referred to as the "old spa," and it truly deserves this name compared to the newer rehabilitation spa located in Karviná-Hranice. It is also the oldest spa in the Czech Republic based on iodine-bromine waters. The name "old spa" simply indicates that it was established earlier than the second facility; both resorts have high-class amenities and employ the latest treatment methods and wellness therapies. The resort is surrounded by the Spa Park, located in the historic part of the city, connecting with the palace park. The spa areas terminate near the arched Darków bridge, built in 1925 to replace a wooden bridge. In 2003, the bridge underwent a technically challenging reconstruction, raising the entire structure by 2 meters above the water level from a hundred years ago.
